Dear Ellsworth Community Residents,
You are cordially invited to participate with Ellsworth Community School as we embark on a community-based process to develop a long range Master Plan for Facility Improvements.
Over the past several months, the District has been partnering with Kingscott Associates of Kalamazoo to perform a complete evaluation of our facilities and buildings. The Board of Education formally approved this Facilities Analysis at a special meeting in March, and charged Kingscott and myself with creating a larger community group to develop a strategy to address the needs defined in the facilities analysis.
A planning committee consisting of parents, community members, staff and students is being assembled to begin the development of the District’s Master Plan for Facility Improvements. The next phase of our process has been titled “Look to the Future” and we are seeking the community’s assistance in accomplishing this.
This F.I.T. Team (Facility Improvements Team) will convene to review and discuss the current facility assessment report from our consultants; prioritize recommendations for facility needs; develop a district-wide master plan for facility improvements; and recommend funding options. The F.I.T. Team will then provide a report and recommendation to the Board of Education.
Please join us for a kickoff meeting in the high school library on Tuesday, May 5 at 6:00 PM. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact me at 231.588.2544, or by email at email@example.com.
As a District, we value the input and insight of the residents of the Ellsworth community, and hope you are able to join us in this exciting time for Ellsworth Community Schools.
Aaron Gaffney, Superintendent
